“No matter what, sooner or later there is an inevitable Picasso epiphany in every artist’s life,” said Marina Faust.

As his birthplace, Malaga is a great place to have a Picasso epiphany.

We selected an Airbnb in the heart of Malaga’s old town in walking proximity of the Museo Picasso Malaga, and the city’s many other museums and monuments. Don’t count out the Carmen Thyssen Museum that has its own special exhibits, paintings and archeological treaures.

Picasso is by far Malaga’s most famous citizen, and we are here during the 50th anniversary year after Pablo Picasso’s death, so special exhibits abound. The museum in his name houses more than 230 works donated by his family. The long line of visitors on a Monday morning reinforced the need for purchasing a ticket online well in advance, which we did.
