When searching for great ballet, Boise, Idaho might not be the first place that comes to mind. Well, take another look.

Idaho Ballet’s 23-24 Season – its 51st – wrapped up last weekend with a dazzling performance of Carmen and Walking Mad. And, the company’s next 24-25 Season promises to continue the upward trajectory of this ballet gem in Idaho’s Treasure Valley.

This company & its academy, at the corner of 8th & Myrtle, anchors downtown Boise’s Cultural District. In fact, it’s the only ballet company of its kind across the three states of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

For its final performance of the season, Artistic Director and Interim Executive Director Garrett Anderson had the vision to bring Brazilian choreographer, director, and teacher Ricardo Amarante to Boise to create a full-length Carmen for the company, set to the well-known Rodion Shchedrin score.

The result? A world premier to remember! The soloists shined and all of the classically trained dancers sparkled on stage with clean, crisp footwork and beautifully extended lines, as they expressively danced this classic story of passion and intrigue.

Individual ticket prices are accessible to all, starting at $28. View some highlights on Instagram @balletidaho.
