I’d like to think that our cheers and chants for the last home game Dec. 20 for FC Barcelona vs. Almeria in LaLiga helped Barca pull out its 3-2 victory. Despite being under the weather, I wasn’t about to miss this game for which we had purchased tickets a couple of months in advance!

Despite sports reports which chided FC Barcelona’s 30 shots on goal, a crowd of international fans (culé) loved the players’ intensity and the win after a less-than-stellar season.

While Spotify Campu Nou is undergoing renovations, we enjoyed the Culé chants inside Olympic Stadium which has its own storied history.

El Chant (el Himne) Del Barça

Blaugrana al vent
un crit valent
tenim un nom el sap tothom:
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!

Translation:

Blue and garnet blowing in the wind
One valiant cry
We’ve got a name that everyone knows:
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!
